Borough Days 2020

Capturing New York City's design story, borough-by-borough.

This year, NYCxDESIGN introduces a special initiative to celebrate and showcase design throughout New York City: Borough Days.

During dedicated days of The Festival, NYCxDESIGN will travel to the city’s five boroughs with a mobile recording studio where communities are invited to participate by recording their design stories. The recordings will represent the city’s collective design voice that will be shared by NYCxDESIGN during The Festival and beyond. You’ll find the NYCxDESIGN recording studio during The Festival at these locations:

Museum of the Moving Image
Stickbulb at RUX Studios

May 14

Empire Outlets

May 16

Industry City
Brooklyn Navy Yard
Brooklyn Museum

May 17

Hudson Yards
ICFF/WantedDesign Manhattan
Design Pavilion
Museum of the City of New York

May 18

New York Botanical Garden

Each Borough Day will also include a film and a talk as part of its programming. The Films will be produced in conjunction with the Architecture and Design Film Festival (ADFF), presented by Eventscape. The Talks will explore the convergence of disparate design disciplines with leading members of the city’s design community. Panelists, film titles, and venues will be released over the coming weeks. Check back in mid- March to reserve your spot at The Films and The Talks.
